Es tut was man erwartet. Weiter so!!
This app is truly one of the best! Without it I’d never find the movie I’m looking for or where it’s located! When you have 3000+ movies, this app helps you keep track of them and keep them organized! Well worth the money!
You can update your collection on your iPhone or iPad this makes this app unless I have the windows version that still works
I wish you could add online services too. Just like CDs, physical media are going obsolete.
Program used to be easy to use. After upgrade, all my data bases are gone. Can’t sync with iPad. Great upgrade, could have just as easily uninstalled it. Update: if I manually enter a disc, the “done” button is behind the battery/ signal/ cell strength readouts at the top of the screen. CANNOT ENTER ANYTHING
I’m posting this in an attempt to gain developers’ attention, ever since server replacement in March due to sever issues, you can no longer update your collection from the iOS app. I’ve had this app for years and have built my collection to over 1200 titles, no way I want to start over, it’s been 16 weeks now, fix the issue or remove the iOS app from the App Store!!!!
This is a fantastic app, but it does need some small improvements for the Macintosh version of DVD Profiler. I would suggest making an actual delete key because the Mac version of this app does not have that option.
The app does not allow me to manually add titles. The cancel and done buttons are right underneath the time and signal bars. I downloaded the app to another iPhone and it’s the same. It’s f annoying.
DVD Profiler will not let me update my on line collection. This makes this useless to me. I go to help and see many users have this problem. The developers refuse to fix this. I want this to work across my different devices. It does not. So, what’s the point. Take a pass on this.
Please update the app. It’s still good, but with a few teaks, it could be amazing.
I’m a long time user, but now in trying to access my online database of dvds the app has deleted my local iPad collection data. They have also revoked my access to the online database and demand a new fee to access whatever may remain there. Feels scammy.
I have an iPhone 15 Pro Max and the camera won’t focus on a barcode. Tried for a matter of minutes. Even putting your finger in front of the lens won’t make it switch to another lens. Grab my old iPhone 12 Pro and it can scan everything I toss in front of it in a second or two. Too bad sharing data between both phones is a full download/overwrite of the new phone. There isn’t anything extra on there to lose it’s just a painfully slow process of downloading everything when you only add a couple movies from the other device. I don’t really have any complaints other than losing my scanning ability on the new phone. I’m closing in on 4000 titles.
I agree with George’ review. My basic question is to invelos. Are you done doing updates to this appl and it is what it is? I realize the world has transitioned to streaming but there are many of us who treasure out 15-20 year old discs and are still using the old Sony 400 carousel machines. At this point it appears this is more a money grab to keep selling a product that might get updated every 3-4 years.
This has been a workhorse for me for a long time but the app is basically orphaned at this point. Don’t buy it…. Who knows how long it will work. It already can’t scan bar codes on my iPhone 15pro Max. I guess it’s time to move onto something else.
In iPadOS 17 the SHOWCASE search box is black text on a black background. Irritating, but the search still works properly. You just have to type carefully. You can also use the filter (magnifier icon) to search a title. It works as before. So does the search box in the COLLECTION tab. I think we should all be thankful that that is the only problem.
I’ve purchased this app as I am a big movie buff and wanted to organize my movie collection. My first complaint is it doesn’t sync well with either the PC or iPad. It seems where one enters the movies is the sole place they can access it. My second complaint is that when attempting to add manually my streaming movies from Amazon, I’m having a devil of a time hitting the “back”, “done” or “save” buttons as it’s covered by the time and battery displays. My third complaint is that it’s very user UNfriendly. It’s not obvious to sort the movies how one wants it. With a bit of patience and a willingness, it can be done. I have high hope as I paid for this that an upgrade will be coming shortly as I did pay for this currently unimpressive app.
I have used this app for years even from using the desktop version; however, it needs an update, old interface very outdated.. not only that, I lunch the app and I had over 1,000 movies on my list and the app crashed, I re-open it and my entire collection was gone. I am using iPhone 14 Pro Max, but seriously, this app needs a serious update date. I have been looking for other apps to switch this one out since it’s so outdated. I really don’t want to switch this app for another one, but if it doesn’t get a make over/updated, I am out. Even the desktop version is outdated…
This app truly helps us to stay organized and to keep track of what we own! I think it’s user-friendly. I wish we had it several years ago when our former house was burglarized. This would have made it much easier to submit been an accurate and concise list to our homeowners insurance.
Great app. It could use a few updates but still functions well. It’s very worrisome to me that this hasn’t been updated in 4 years. Hopefully the developers haven’t abandoned it.
I have been using this app for years. I think it works great. It’s easy to bar code scan in new movies. It’s very easy to view the movies in my collection. Even though it has not been updated for a long time it still functions well.
I have used DVD Profiler for almost 20 years, keeping track of my collection was easy when I had a small collection, when the paid version came out I was excited, I no longer feared deletion of files. I love this app and the various skins one can download to personalize the app to you liking. DVD Profiler saved me money and time, when I shop for a movie I can easily check to see if I own it already, or who I might have loaned the movie to. I recommend DVD Profiler to anyone that can keep track of their collection, on several media platforms.
Was a great app, but needs updated, used to be able to scan bar codes but now it doesn’t
Great app it has crashed once and lost collection. Overall it has been a daily go to and would recommend. The app seems to have some issues right now with connecting. One final note the app seems to be unable to update collection if it’s a large number.
Can’t add anything manually because the “Done” & “save” buttons hide beneath the battery level Indicator. Other than that this is one of the best apps I Ever bought.
I love this app, I use it to easily have my movies shared on my computer without manually typing each and every code there instead. I will say though after moving from an older iPhone to an iPhone 12Pro, I can’t manually add a new store in as the Cancel and Save buttons are at the very top of the screen, and that’s exactly where the time and battery/wifi/bars signal is. It gets blocked and I can’t even cancel out without having to just forcefully close the app. If maybe the buttons were lowered down or instead the cancel/save buttons were on the bottom half that would be great. Save with some buttons that appear too low on the app, the words and items get cut off because of how large the screen is making it difficult to manage in newer phones. If that was able to be fixed (unlikely after all these years) that would be great. Otherwise I love this app.
I’ve used this app since it came out and I still love it. Always easy to use.
I LOVE this app. Easy to catalogue collection. I’d give it a 5 Star rating, but it’s not available to use on my older (2014) iMac or MacBook Air. One other minor thing: I can’t set my own “sort names” for groups of movies. Overall though, I’m very pleased with it.
After using for a year and scanning hundreds of movies, the art will no longer show. The print is overlapping also. Cannot not use filters to change sort order And no support! This app sucked me into using a lot of time before faking. Avoid it.
No way am I going to scan all of my disc UPCs into my phone with no way to share it with my ipad or my linux desktop. I bought it because I was (mis)led to believe it could determine the approximate value of my collection. Since it’s unable to do that (or much else without buying a copy of windows in order to buy a windows version of the software for the iphone version to link to) it has fundamentally no useful purpose. skip this useless rubbish.
I’ve been using this app for years with no complaints but the current version will not open on my iPad mini. It opens but it immediately aborts. I closed all open apps and tried again but it still doesn’t work. Please fix this issue.
Abandoned by the creators and doesn’t even open anymore. What a joke. This needs to be removed from the App Store.
Updated to iOS 14.4 and the app crashes before opening! Otherwise, a great app.
I love this app and have been using it for years to catalog my collection. But with iOS 14.3 on an iPhone XR it won’t open anymore. It immediately crashes upon opening the app. PLEASE FIX THIS! I don’t want to start over with a new app.
A look at the forums shows that many have encountered this problem and the developers have NOT fixed it! You can not add custom entries (for example if you have a Dvd whose UPC code isn’t recognized) because the Done Button is behind the battery status bar on my iPhone. Also- the cancel button is behind the time status bar. I bought the app and spent many hours scanning and then ran into this problem as I started to enter my older DVDs. Beware! Lots of work just to be frustrated! Boo
This was a great app. Now no so good. Over 2 years since last update Developers need to fix or remove from App Store
I’ve been using this app for over 5 years now. I’ve never had any real issues with it. the barcode scanner is handy especially when doing multiple discs.
...still works on iPads but I need it on a more mobile device like a phone
App crashes instantly since installing iOS 14.2. I’ve been using DVD profiler for many years. First time there’s been an issue with the app for me.
It isn’t updating with the new IOS update so it won’t open.
This app worked great for years, I built up my library in this app to over 500 titles. However, it’s crashing with the latest iOS update. And I can’t create a support ticket unless I pay, which I’m not going to do since it won’t open.
I have used two other products before this one and have found DVD profiler to be the best. I like the way it is laid out, how easy it is to search, how you can scan new movies with your phone and easily loan them out to others. The only thing I would like to see improved is a real time synchronization of what’s in the cloud and what is on your other devices. Other than that, I love it!
Opened the app recently to see all the DVD images were gone. Then caught there hasn’t been an update in 2 years. Their FB page also seems active. The app still works, but it feels like it has been abandoned by the developer.
Gives an error no support
Works great been using it for years
Long time user of dvd profiler. Love the ability to catalog all my dvds. With movies in the cloud my database is fractured. Would love to have a way to sync my cloud movies with my database. Or an option to list a movie as being in the cloud.
Great way to catalogue your movie collection. Allows me to rate movies and have rapid access to Metacritic and Rotten Tomato reviews. Search function is very good. I also use the customizable fields to identify within my house where my DVD’s are located. This is helpful if you have multiple family members. I wish they would have a desktop Mac version, but the PC/Windows version works great. The collection gets backed up online and I use my iPhone to add/modify as needed backup online then restore this database to all of my family’s devices periodically. I have entered over 2000’s movies without difficulty.
When a title is not in the database and you try and load in manually. You can load it but when you have to save it or hit done. The done button is underneath the battery icon at the top of the phone. So I cannot load the title. I hope that makes sense.
I like the way I can keep track of my movies. Also having both the computer and mobile version means I have the list wherever I am. The online upload means I don’t lose my information on what movies I have.
Worked great but not being updated for the IPhone X or newer phones
I used DVD profiler on the desktop many years ago. Since I recently started collecting again I was looking for an app to catalog my collection. When I saw DVD Profiler had an app I did not hesitate to purchase it. There is one huge problem, if you have an iPhone 10 or 11 many of the buttons you need go into the upper and lower zones of the screen where you can’t have a button because it interferes with other system related buttons. While I am able to add movies to my collection I am not able to add notes so I feel like the app is not very helpful. If you have an iPhone 10 or 11 I would give it a pass
